Hi Lynette and team, I got tears of joy after reading about your knitting project and how you have helped the mothers in Jinja. I was born in Jinja and I currently live in Kampala. I'm an online volunteer with the UN and I'm tasked with documenting projects and individuals that have made a difference in other people's lives through volunteerism (we are celebrating 10 years of volunteerism this year) and this is how I came across your work. I would like to say "Mwebale ino" in lusoga which is the local dialect in Jinja meaning "Thank you very much"

Whilst visiting the dentist today I discovered one of the receptionists/dental nurses from bourne end dental had been volunteering with Dentaid.
I am minister at Cores End, Bourne End, Bucks SL8 5HZ and yesterday we had a speaker from Sightsavers at our service and a retiring collection which raised of the order of £70.00. Would it be possible for you to send a speaker to us, one Sunday in 2012, to raise awareness of the dreadful plight of these children especially in Uganda? We would of course make a donation to your work. It seems to me we take our teeth and dental health so much for granted!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you somuch for whatever you are doing to ensure that pupils with hearing impairments access education. The statistics regarding completion and retention in primary schools are worrying and we need to make sure that all deaf children are enrolled in school. We need to sensitise our communities to stop abusing these pupils as 'Kasiru' meaning stupid. Lets say no to this derogatory and abusive language. Iam very happy that you were able organise special classes for the 57 'Great men and Women' who sat PLE recently. We wish them every success and abright future. Let the Deaf be heard, seen and felt through education!

I will pass on your above request for information about setting up a portable dental clinic in Iganga to Barbara Koffman. However, she is currently away in Uganda, so please don't expect a quick response. You might also try the dental charity Dentaid for information, www.dentaid.org.
